The organization also reserves the right to make decisions on points not covered by the rules or even contrary to them in order to maintain the sporting spirit and fairness of the competition.

1.2 Broadcasting of the Competition

You may, if you wish, broadcast the competition from the platform of your choice. If possible, please display the name of LAN ETS 2024 in your title. Be sure to observe a three (3) minute delay to avoid any stream hacking issues.

1.3 Eligibility

To participate in the LAN ETS TFT tournament, the team must:

  1. Be registered for the tournament through the LAN ETS website (<https://lanets.ca/>).
  2. Possess a ticket (BYOC or BYOC Premium) to the event for each team member.
  3. Have completed check-in with tournament organizers BEFORE 11PM ON FRIDAY, JUNE 28. (If the captain or any other team member fails to appear before the specified check-in time, the organization reserves the right not to allow the team to compete).
  4. Have joined the LAN ETS Discord: <https://discord.gg/aR3yQxqc3F>. This must be done no later than June 27, 2024.

Late registrations may be allowed on a case-by-case basis, but at the discretion of the tournament organizers.

Each team must have a minimum of one (1) participating members authorized to play for each match. Failing to provide the minimum number of participating members may result in match loss or tournament disqualification. All members of a roster must have a valid Riot account. This means they must not be banned, chat restricted, or restricted in any way due to toxicity, violation of game rules, or failure to comply with Riot's Code of Conduct.

SECTION 2 - Rules

Format

The tournament consist of 8 qualification matches and a finale of 6 matches.

Seeding

All brackets will use the snake seeding system. Initial seeding will use the game's ladder at the start of the event. After that, seeding will be based on tournament results.

Snake seeding example

Lobby 1 | Lobby 2 |
------- | ------- |
#1 | #2 |
#4 | #3 |
#5 | #6 |
#8 | #7 |
#10 | #9 |
#11 | #12 |
#14 | #13 |
#15 | #16 |

Point system

All games will use the following pointing system: | Placement | Points | | --------- | ------ | | Top 1 | 8 pts | | Top 2 | 7 pts | | Top 3 | 6 pts | | Top 4 | 5 pts | | Top 5 | 4 pts | | Top 6 | 3 pts | | Top 7 | 2 pts | | Top 8 | 1 pts |

Match process

Throughout the duration, the lobbies will be reshuffled after every two matches, based on the current scores. Example:

  • Matches 1-2
  • Reshuffle
  • Matches 3-4
  • ...

The lobby creation is done by the lobby leader, i.e., the first person listed in the lobby (and therefore the person with the best seeding). The leader must invite the other 7 players to the lobby. The lobby must remain in "invite-only" mode at all times. The lobby will be a "normal" lobby on the live servers.

Round 1

The first round consists of 4 matches. After these matches are completed and the points compiled, the first elimination will take place. Half of the players with the lowest points in the rankings will be disqualified from the main tournament and will have the opportunity to join the consolation tournament. For logistical reasons and to ensure good lobbies for the second round, the final number of players will be half, rounded down to the nearest multiple of 8. (For example, 68 players would be cut to 32.) Thus, the second round will have only lobbies of 8, and we avoid as many external factors as possible.

Consolation Tournament

The consolation tournament is open to all those who were eliminated in round 1. The bracket consists of 4 matches with prizes for the top rankings. More information will be communicated during the event, but the rules will be the same as for the main tournament.

Round 2

Qualified players will be able to participate in round 2 to try to reach the Sunday finals. At the end of the day, the top 8 will be able to join the finals. There will be no consolation tournament for those eliminated in round 2.

Final

After the 8 qualification matches, the top 8 in the rankings will qualify for the final. The points will be reset for the final, with each player starting on an equal footing. After the 6 matches, the person with the most points wins the tournament.

Tiebreakers

In the event of a tie in points, the following tiebreaker will be used:

  1. The cumulative number of top 1-2-3 placements
  2. The number of top 1 placements
  3. The number of top 2 placements
  4. The fewest bot 2 placements
  5. Placement in the last match

Disconnections

In the event that a player is unable to connect to the match before round 2-1 for the first time, the player may request the administrators to start a new match. If this request is approved, the ongoing match will be abandoned by the players, and a new match will be started. The decision to restart a match or not is at the discretion of the administrators.

Gamebreaking bugs/exploits

Any known gamebreaking bugs and exploits at the start of the tournament will be mentioned to the players if applicable. The use of any of these may result in a player's disqualification from the tournament, at the discretion of the administrators.

Players are expected to play matches to the best of their ability. In order to ensure an optimal experience for tournament participants, the following actions are prohibited:

  • Sabotaging someone without valid reason.
