Lan ETS 2017 is an event organized by the Lan ETS Committee. This is a legal agreement between you (the participant and/or website visitor) and Lan ETS. You must accept these rules and conditions without modification before you may register and participate in the Lan ETS 2017 event. If you do not accept these terms and conditions in whole, you may not register or participate in. For every Lan ETS participant,this legal agreement must be printed, signed and submitted at the beginning of the event, otherwise you will be refused entrance.
The Lan ETS Committee reserves the right to change the terms and conditions required for registration and/or participation in the Lan ETS 2017 event. Modifications will take effect once they are posted on the event website. It is your responsibility to regularly pass in review these modalities and conditions. The modifications of the current agreement will be conveyed by email to the participants or parents or legal guardian, if applicable. Modifications will enter in vigor the moment of its publication or the website of the event.
All minors (as defined by Quebec law) who wish to participate in Lan ETS 2017 must also complete the parental authorization form. If the required forms are not signed and submitted at the entrance, the participant will be refused entrance.
Notwithstanding parental authorization, no minor under 16 years of age may enter the premises rented during the setup and dismantling periods of the event, conforming to the rules of Place Bonaventure.
Participants except to have photos or videos taken of them during the entirety of the event and that these photos or videos can be used for promotional purposes by Lan ETS, École de Technologie Supérieure, Place Bonaventure and any Lan ETS sponsor, their subsidiary companies or divisions, including but not limited to their publication and promotion agencies and promotion associates. Participants recognize that in no case, no matter the motive, can the participant prohibit, prevent or hinder the exploitation or use of these photos or videos.
A piece of valid government-issued identification may be required. If you are under 18 years of age, your parents or legal guardian must register you and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions in your name. Participants under the age of 18 on the first day of the event may participate in tournaments, but must provide their signed parental permission form denoting the consent of a parent or legal guardian. The participant must not provide false or fraudulent information or else risk being refused entrance to or removed from the Lan ETS 2017 event. All registrations are subject to verification.
The participant accepts, without limitation, to abide by the law and regulations of Lan ETS, as describe further down. Any violation of this on the part of the participant may result in the disqualification of tournaments and the immediate expulsion from the Lan ETS event.
The participant agrees not to participate in any exchange of illegal material or software protected under intellectual property laws (meaning copyright laws) or any other illegal activities while they are on the premises of the Lan ETS event or on the computer network of the Lan ETS event. The participant acknowledges and agrees that the usage of Peer-to-peer systems on the computer network of the Lan ETS event may be subject to monitoring and access control.
Consumption, possession or exchange of illegal drugs and alcohol is strictly forbidden on the premises of Place Bonaventure. The Lan ETS administrators may refuse entry to anyone that appears to be visibly under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Anybody caught in the act or suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be immediately expelled with his material without reimbursement.
The viewing, exchange, or sale of explicit or pornographic material is strictly forbidden in the Lan ETS event.
Participants agree to not smoke in Place Bonaventure.
Participants agree to not use any space of Place Bonaventure as sleeping quarters.
Participants agree to not commit any harmful act, nor voluntarily or allow an act that may cause a disagreement, a hassle, trouble or hinder users in any parts of Place Bonaventure.
Participants agree to not cause, produce or leave emanate fumes, gas, smoke or unusual odor, harmful or unpleasant, or any sound, odor or light unpleasant to Place Bonaventure.
Participants agree not no commit or allow anything that may stop the efficiency or accessibility of public services, heating, ventilation or air conditioning, in total or in part of Place Bonaventure, nor commit or allow anything that may hinder the access of passages, adjacent public areas, nor the aisles, street or pavement accessing them;
Participants agree to not cause or enable anything that may stop the efficiency or accessibility of the escalators or elevators of Place Bonaventure, nor the electrical, plumbing, gas or compressed air system, including, but not limited to, piping, canalisation, cables, conduits and equipment that are connected;
Participants agree to not overload any floor, columns, ceiling or wall;
participants agree to not install any additional locks of any sort on the windows or interior doors of Place Bonaventure, nor change anything on the locks of doors or windows or it's mechanism, unless it has been allowed by written permission, or that the Lessor on duty keeps a copy of the key;
Participants agree to not allow or permit any act or anything in Place Bonaventure that may void an insurance policy or that may constitute an additional condition of risk that may increase insurance policies normally covered by the lease;
Participants agree to not engage in a collect.
No violence, discrimination, intimidation, harassment, threat of any sort towards the organizers of Lan ETS or other players, theft or voluntary breakage of equipment belonging to Lan ETS or any other participant will be tolerated.
Animals cannot be introduced in Place Bonaventure without explicit consent written beforehand by a representative of Place Bonaventure except for guide dogs accompanying a person with reduced mobility.
Any breach of these rules of conduct will result in the expulsion of the player or team from the event without the possibility of appeal or reimbursement/refund
The participant agrees that Lan ETS, its officers, employees, volunteers, as well as the École de Technologie Supérieure, Place Bonaventure and the sponsors of Lan ETS and their affiliates or divisions are not responsible for any defect in the operation of material or software, for any error, anomaly, or fault caused by the operation of software that results in the disqualification or loss of the participant's match.
The participant also agrees that Lan ETS, its officers, employees, volunteers, as well as the École de Technologie Supérieure,Place Bonaventure and the sponsors of Lan ETS and their affiliates or divisions, including publicity agencies and associates assume no responsibility regarding promises made from any source (including promotions and publicity), and from all obligations regarding the dispensation of prizes.
The participant agrees that they bring any personal property or computer material to the event at their own risk. Lan ETS does not provide any guarantees concerning the protection of personal property belonging to the participant. The participant agrees to free Lan ETS, its officers, employees, volunteers, as well as the École de Technologie Supérieure, Place Bonaventure and the sponsors of Lan ETS and their affiliates or divisions from any liability regarding the damage, destruction, or theft of any property at the Lan ETS event.
The participant agrees that they attend the Lan ETS event at their own risk. Lan ETS does not guarantee the presence of any medical personnel at the event. The participant agrees to free Lan ETS, its officers, employees, volunteers, as well as the École de Technologie Supérieure, Place Bonaventure and the sponsors of Lan ETS and their affiliates or divisions from any liability regarding accident or injury for the duration of the Lan ETS event, or during their transport to or from the Lan ETS event.
No player, after registering, may leave the event with any computer equipment without prior approval from Lan ETS. All players must AT ALL TIMES wear a badge with their Lan ETS 2017 nickname. No visitors will be admitted to the event without their “visitor” ID badge, having previously given their name, contact info, and a piece of ID for the duration of their visit. No accompanying person will be admitted without proper identification, giving beforehand their coordinates and an id during their visit.
No forms of cheating in the tournaments will be permitted, no matter what form they might take. The participant agrees to use nothing more than the options contained within a game, and to not modify these options in a way that might give them an unfair advantage. Cheating can take several forms and includes Match fixing.
Lan ETS reserves the right to verify the configuration of any computer to verify that it conforms to the tournament rules and regulations. Lan ETS may also sporadically verify various players' computers. Furthermore, any player who refuses to let a tournament administrator verify their computer will automatically be considered to be cheating .
In the case of team competitions, the entire team will be held accountable for a cheating verdict for the current tournament. It is therefore the responsibility of the team to verify the configuration of each of their players before each tournament. Failure in this will result in the application of the previously mentioned consequences.
All players exhibiting what the Lan ETS staff considers to be unsportsmanlike behaviour will be expelled from the event without refund or discussion. Examples of unsportsmanlike behaviour: verbal or physical violence or harassment, any sort of threat against Lan ETS staff or other players involving the voluntary theft or damaging of equipment belonging to Lan ETS or anyone else. Legal charges may be pressed against any person exhibiting such behaviour.
Players caught cheating may be prohibited from participating to Lan ETS tournaments for the 5 next years.
Players caught cheating may have their ticked revoked and have to leave the event.
Players banned from a competitive league may be refused entry in our tournaments.
Lan ETS considers that the nickname of a player is the players identifier valid as an individuals identity. The act of registering his/her nickname for anything (document, form, blog, etc.) is a written signature and implicates any legal consideration associated.
By providing personal information of all kind, you give Lan ETS the right to use that data for analysis and statistics purpose. The Lan ETS team undertakes not to distribute this information to anyone not directly involved in the Lan ETS organization. Among those considered as members of the immediate organization we include de Lan ETS executive committee, any official service unit of ETS or any individual/organization concerned by our operations.
While personal information will remain confidential, Lan ETS does not take responsibility for any case in which this information is published without the knowledge or written consent of Lan ETS.
Place Bonaventure reserves the right to refuse admission, expel or prohibit access to any visitors or exhibitor and its employees. Place Bonaventure also reserves the right to prohibit exhibition pieces, prints, products or any article judged unwanted, without any possibility of reimbursement.

Lan ETS 2017 may be cancelled for the following circumstances:
In case of cancellation of Lan ETS 2017, in part or in whole, participants will not be reimburse registration fee and any additional fee incurred during the event.
