1. General
1.1 Definition of Terms
- Tournament administrator: Person in charge of your tournament. You can find who your tournament administrators are by looking at the Discord's roles.
- Tournament platform: Website where you registered to join the tournament. Most likely on "Toornament" or "Smash.gg".
- Team: Person or group of people competing together to achieve a common goal. For individual tournaments, the terms "team" and "captain" will refer to the player.
- Lobby: Place on the game's platform where the members of a team assemble before starting a game.
1.2 General Rules
- Every player must be registered on the tournament platform.
- Every player must join the public Discord () and look out for announcements concerning their tournament before and during the tournament.
- Every player must read, understand and agree to the Rules to participate in the Lan ETS tournament. Therefore, as a condition to their participation, players must agree and consent to these Rules, as well as Lan ETS's authority to enforce them. Each player is expected and required to abide by the Rules. Any failure to do so will result in punitive measures.
- Rules are subject to be changed by the tournament administrators at any given time if deemed necessary. It is of the player's responsibility stay up to date with the rules.
- Every player, and substitute, must own a BYOC ticket before the tournament.
- Players can only be part of one, and only one, team. Every team with a player registered with more than one team will be disqualified.
- Every player must be physically present at Lan ETS to participate in a tournament.
- Evey player must play with their main game account during the entire tournament. No smurfs are allowed.
- Finals could be played on stage. If this is the case, the teams will dispose of 10 minutes, from the moment every player is present, to connect to the game's lobby and Discord. The match will start even if some players are late. Players must prepare their login credentials.
- Every team and player must present themselves with an appropriate name. Any team or player attempting to sign up for a tournament with a name deemed unsuitable will be asked to change it in order to participate.
- A tournament administrator's decision is final.
- Every conflict must be reported to a tournament administrator as soon as possible.
- Schedule
- Tournaments will take place from May 29th to May 31st, 2026.
- One player per team, preferably the captain, must check in at the administration table on Friday, May 29th, 2026, before 23:00, Eastern Time, to confirm their team's attendance. Any additional information regarding the tournament will be given at this time.
- Tournament registration will close Friday, May 29th, 2026, at 23:00, Eastern Time.
- Tournaments will start Saturday, May 30th, 2026, at 9:00, Eastern Time. It is the captain's responsibility to contact their opponent team's captain, using the given information on the tournament platform, in order to start the matches as soon as possible. Further instructions might be provided by the tournament administrators in due time.
- Every team is responsible to stay up-to-date with the tournament schedule at all times and must be ready to play at the scheduled time. If a team is not fully present and ready 15 minutes after the scheduled time, a penalty will systematically be given.
- Adherence to the tournament schedule is mandatory. Any changes to the schedule are at the tournament administrators' discretion and will be announced to the players.
- Any tardiness, of any kind, must be immediately reported to a tournament administrator.
- Teams winning monetary prices are responsible for providing the necessary information for the transaction of their share to a member of the Lan ETS executive team. If a team or a player fails to provide sufficient information to complete the transaction, they will not receive their prize money.
1.4 Streaming / Spectating
- Streaming is allowed with a delay set to a minimum of 5 minutes unless otherwise instructed by a tournament administrator.
- In-game spectators are not allowed at the exception of the allowed Lan ETS staff.
- Lan ETS's official streamers are authorised to spectate any match, at any given time.
2 Team Roster
2.1 Team Captain
- Each team must have a designated captain. The captain is the link between the organizers, the tournament administrators, and the team before, during and after the event.
- The captain must be a member of the team.
- The captain must make sure their team has checked-in to the tournament administrators Friday, May 29th before 23:0, Eastern Time.
- The captain must provide their team members' average ranking to the tournament administrators when checking-in on Friday.
- The captain's username on Lan ETS Discord must be their team's name followed by the captain's in-game username. Ex: [Super team] Bobby.
- The captain has to report their team's match results to the tournament administrator after each match.
- The captain has to contact other captains during the tournament to coordinate their next match.
- The captain must be reachable on Discord at any time during the tournament's hours.
- The captain must frequently check the tournament's Discord channel to be aware of any announcements made by the tournament administrators.
- The captain will be the spokesperson of the team in case of a dispute.
2.2 Substitute Player
- Each team is allowed one (1) substitute. The substitute must be added to the team roster before the start of the tournament.
- The substitute player must have their own BYOC ticket in order to participate in the tournament when needed.
- Players can only be swapped in between matches.
- Substitute players are subject to the same rules as all other players.
3 Technical Issues
- Before a match is resumed after a break, both teams must confirm that they are ready in the chat.
- If a player is unable to join the match in progress following their disconnection, a period of fifteen (15) minutes before the next match, if applicable, may be granted to the disadvantaged team so that the player can attempt to reconnect or have a substitute take their place. Tournament administrators might refuse to grant this delay, their decisions are final.
- The game has to be resumed after the total allotted time has run out, whether the issue is resolved or not. If a team refuses to resume the game, the opposing team will be awarded a win by default.
- If none of the players are able to continue the game due to an issue with the server, the entire game must be replayed.
- If a problem is detected at the initial kickoff of the game, like a latency issue, high pings or other, players can request the creation of a new server. They must exit the private game lobby immediately.
- In case of material or electrical issues, please contact the tournament administrators as soon as possible.
- Tournament administrators hold the right to request teams to pause during the match in case of any other issues, and the time used to pause the match will not count for the team it was requested to.
- Tournament administrators hold the right to make the final decision regarding pauses.
- Any proven false claim of an issue in order to benefit a team will result in a sanction.
4 Code of conduct
- All players are expected to exhibit good sportsmanship and maintain respect for one another, other players, visitors and Lan ETS staff. They are to treat others as they themselves would like to be treated.
- Behaviors that are considered to be inappropriate and in violation of the code of conduct includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Non-fair-play behavior, physical or verbal abuse towards any other person.
- Acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with the intent to disrupt or undermine the legitimate operation of the tournament, or to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person.
- Engaging in collusion, which is any agreement between two or more teams or players on different teams to predermine the outcome of a game.
- Hacking, exploiting, the use of any kind of cheating device and/or cheat programs, or any similar cheating method.
- Intentionnally using any in-game bugs or so-called "hacks" to seek an advantage.
- Cheating, manipulating game files, using unapproved game modifications, or any other method by which one may gain an unfair advantage over another player.
- Any possession or consumption of drugs, alcohol, or any illegal substances, as well as participating in illegal activities and gambling, is strictly prohibited on-site. Players on the effects of drugs, alcohol or illegal substances may be removec from the tournament and/or the Lan ETS event.
- Engaging in violence or any activity which is deemed in the judgment of the tournament administrators to be immoral, unethical, disgraceful, or contrary to common standards of dencency.
- Making sexual remarks, engaging in derogatory comments or attacks towards any person.
- Touching or interfering with lights, cameras, or other studio equipment.
- You must inform a tournament administrator if you witness an inappropriate or suspicious behavior as soon as possible. Picture (screenshots) or video (screen recording) poofs are highly recommended to facilitate the resolution of the problem. Any player who violates these rules may be disqualified or sanctioned. Warnings and sanctions may lead to the immediate disqualification and removal of the player and their team from the tournament and/or the Lan ETS event. This decision will be at the discretion of Lan ETS. You can talk to your tournament administrators if you see any improper or suspicious behavior.
5 Prize
- Once the tournament is over, if a team is part of the prize pool, the team's members must present themselves at the administration desk to fill out all necessary documents. The winners must provide the following information:
- Full name
- Email address
- Complete address with postal code, city, and province
- Any incorrect information may cause a delay in payment.
- If a player is unable to be present at the administration desk, it is their responsibility to contact the Tournament Officials to claim their prize.
- The prize is split equally among the members of the team.
- Each team may have one designated person who is eighteen (18) years of age or older, responsible for distributing any prizing. This can be the same player as the Team Captain or another person entirely. Each player of the team must then present himself at the administration desk to give his agreement.
