Format
Strict Rules will be followed for disappearing. Nobody is special and you will be disqualified if you are not there when called. Warnings will be given before proceeding with Disqualification.
Double elimination tournament
2 out of 3 games per match 3 out of 5 games per Winners and Losers Finals 3 out of 5 games grand finals
Bring your own sticks/controllers
The console equipment will be labeled and registered to ensure its safety. However, please be careful with your sticks. Furthermore, if you know you’re attending and you do not have a stick to use, make sure you have a friend who can donate. All singles matches will enforce a 5 minute rule and if you can’t find a stick within that time you will be disqualified. This is advance warning and will not be brought up again.
Since the Evolution Championship Series staff has made the decision to legalize DualShock 4 usage at their event this year, players comfortable with the DS4 will be permitted to use it. Though normally banned due to their Bluetooth capabilities, players will need to bring their own USB cable. Regulations will still be in place to ensure they don’t interfere with the competition. It will be every DualShock 4 users’ responsibility to make sure their controller is no longer paired with the console after their match. Anybody not conforming to this rule risks automatic disqualification from the tournament.
Mapping buttons is allowed but Autofire / Turbo are not allowed.
Broken Sticks/Buttons
If you have any stick/button problems at anytime, STOP PLAYING, get up and inform a bracket director. The stick will be fixed/changed and the Judge will DECIDE the outcome. Please respect the Judge’s decision.
Legacy Support
Legacy Support will be banned for this event, due to a disconnecting issue with the controllers and a massive loss of time. No PS3 stick with PS4 pad will be allowed under any circumstance.
Converters
The Brook Converters and boards are allowed on a temporary basis. If game systems patch them out before the event, rendering them useless, they will be banned. So be very careful and have a backup plan.
After Match Results
Please make sure to update the tournament directors with your match results. If no updates has been made and it delays the tournament, both players will be marked as having lost the match and will therefore be eliminated as needed.
