Volunteering at Lan ETS

Volunteering at Lan ETS is an amazing opportunity to get hands-on experience into a unique event in a multitude of teams all with very different tasks. Every year, we rely on our volunteers to help create an event better in every way than the last!

No matter what interests you, from troubleshooting a faulty computer to helping out the production staff, the Lan ETS is the place to be! Here is a preview of the different teams for which we will be recruiting before the event. We dont specifically require previous experience for all teams, but some teams require a minimum of background in certain fields as certain skills are required. For example, members of our Tech-Support crew are often required to have some basic troubleshooting and computer skills as it's their main task during the event.

Tech-Support Cisco? Switches? Spanning-Tree? DHCP? Do these words seem familiar and fun? If so, then join our kick-ass Tech-Support team! Every year, our core network team is in charge of handling of creating and maintaining the network on which almost 5000 devices rely for internet. We make sure you get that 5 ms ping!

ProductionEvent planning? Lights? Video? SDI cables? Do you enjoy equalizing audio? Then, we definitely want you for our Production crew! Under the supervision of our exec, you will assist the Lan ETS into creating an awesome events with Twitch Streams, stage production and much much more!

Logistics2000 players, hundreds of visitors and 30 km of cables. Sounds fun and challenging? Then we want you for our Logistics crew! Your group will be in charge of handling all the moving parts of the event. From players to boxes of Ethernet cable you will be in charge of making sure they all need to get where they need to be!

Game AdminsA critical part of our event is our BYOC tournaments. Every year, the Lan ETS crew selects games that will be featured during the event. Over the weekend, players will compete against each other under the supervision of the Game Admins. You will be responsible for creating brackets and handling players during your tournament.

Power CrewAn often overlooked part of our event, the electrical infrastructure is critical in order to provide an stable experience to the player. As part of the Power Crew, you will make sure that players are properly connected to assure the proper distribution of power throughout the event.
